What is a covert or vulnerable narcissist?

A covert narcissist is an individual with high narcissistic traits who does not outwardly display their grandiosity or sense of self importance. These individuals can even display shyness and humility which allows them to gain acceptance by naive individuals. The covert narcissist is the most dangerous because it takes time to spot them, but you can look for certain patterns and traits of behavior that usually occur frequently in these individuals. They are highly sensitive to criticism and are passive aggressive. Passive aggression is a manipulation tactic which is easy to overlook, which consist of the silent treatment, subtle jokes, and procrastination on task that they consider beneath them. They have a shy and withdrawn nature and find it hard to get along with others because they lack empathy. Internally, they have grandiose fantasies and can suffer from anxiety and depression. Additionally, they suffer from feelings of inadequacy and they are extremely envious of others. They are enemies of progress, so if these individuals are in your circle of have authority over you at work they will make sure they keep you below them and underpaid if they're a boss. These individuals secretly hate you, so if you are around these people you are destined to fail, and you will have all their negative qualities projected onto you. You will never reach your goals and you could have some major health issues. When meeting new individuals take your time and discover who you are really dealing with, because they could be the devil in disguise.
